I have been fortunate to have been surrounded by art and artists all my life. My artistic expression was nurtured by my mother, Jane Burnham as well as notable artists of the day including Jade Fon, Rex Brandt and Millard Sheets. As co-founder of the Paint Yosemite Workshop I was able to meet and paint along with Stepen Quiller, Michael Schlicting, Carla O’Conner and others. Discovering new ways to use color and design has always been, for me, the joy of painting. I like to combine abstract, impressionistic and realistic imagery. I prefer a contemporary style due to its breadth of artistic opportunity and expression. Blithe, uplifting and charming are effusive words often used to describe my painting. Carol has juried shows for the Santa Cruz County Fair and twice at the Merced County Fair. Her work has been collected by Daikon, Inc., San Francisco, Doubletree Inn, Pleasanton, California, Saint Anthony’s Hospital, Denver, Colorado 3 Com Corporations, Santa Clara, California and Union Security Bank, Fresno, California. |
