Marion’s earliest yarn memories are of her Grandmother holding her hands, working needles. She continues to be inspired by all the variation of color in nature and the magic of the loom.
Her heart has been given to handweaving, one of the most ancient craft guilds. Her home studio contains yarns and fibers of every imaginable color and texture. She works on a floor loom (also a work of art) surrounded by sketches, wall hangings, wearables and yarns for future projects; all of which provide pleasure while working.
Her love of animals is akin to loving fiber. “The color variations and texture of their fur is intriguing and lovely to touch. I, therefore, have 4 adult cats and one small dachshund providing company. This love has led me to be a volunteer with Animal Friends Rescue Project and enjoying the role of foster mom to orphaned kittens.”
Marion has been a popular member of the Valley Art Gallery for 30 years with many collectors of her work. She enjoys commissions based on customer ideas or wishes. She loves the entire process; the design, planning with the customer, choice of colors and textures, and especially the happy conclusion of the process.
Visitors are always welcome in her studio.
