Alejandro Saldivar Jr.
As a very young child, Alex had art in his life. He loved to sketch and draw. His fraternal grandfather painted landscapes and still life paintings and sold them in a little art gallery in Grover Beach, California. Alex’s 26-year career in the U.S. Army took him and his family all over the world before eventually settling in Salinas. After retiring from the Army, he accepted the position of the director of the Salinas Boys & Girls Club at Sherwood Elementary School and then embarked on a 16-year career as a high-school JROTC instructor at Gonzales, Seaside, and San Jose. On most days you’ll find him hanging out in his workshop, exploring new art techniques, or spending quality time with his wife and grandchildren. |
